Planning Your
Wedding Day

The practical details, answered honestly, so you know exactly what you are working with.

Most of the questions couples ask us are the practical ones, and they are easier to answer up front than halfway through planning. Here is how the day works, what is allowed, and when things are due. Anything not covered here, ask your coordinator.

Seating and layouts

Our tables seat 8, and larger tables can be brought in for a small charge. We can comfortably seat up to 130 guests for a wedding breakfast on large round tables. If you need to cater for more, we can set the room out with rectangular tables instead. For the evening reception our maximum is 200. Minimum numbers apply and vary by package, so do ask. Your coordinator will advise on the layout that suits your day.

Styling and decorations

Table decorations and flowers are not included unless they form part of your package, but we work with local suppliers regularly and are happy to recommend people we trust. Confetti is welcome inside the building. Candles are permitted on the tables.

Access and guest comfort

There is a lift for anyone who needs step-free access, along with an accessible toilet and a ramp on the ground floor. If any of your guests have particular requirements, tell your coordinator early and we will plan around them.

Entertainment and fireworks

Fireworks are permitted until 10pm and make a memorable end to the evening. They must be supplied by a specialist licensed firework company, and we will need a copy of that supplier's liability insurance beforehand.

The bar and licensing

The bar is open 11am until 11:30pm Monday to Wednesday, and 11am until midnight Thursday to Sunday. The same hours apply to live music. An extension until 1am is available at additional cost. Where you are having a civil ceremony the bar can serve beforehand, though drinks cannot be taken into the ceremony room.

Drinks and corkage

All beverages are supplied by us, so we ask that guests do not bring their own alcohol onto the premises.

Accommodation and travel

We do not have rooms on site, but there is plenty within a few miles and we are happy to pass on the places we recommend. There is parking in the grounds. And should you want to leave in style, we do have a helicopter landing area.

Supplier access and setup

If you or your suppliers need access before the wedding day for styling or setup, raise it with your coordinator when you book so we can build it into the plan. Third-party suppliers need to provide proof of insurance ahead of the day.
